The Chakras
What are the chakras?
Chakras are energy centers within the body that play an essential role in physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. The word “chakra” is derived from Sanskrit, meaning “wheel” or “disk,” and represents the spinning wheels of energy located along the central axis of the body.
There are seven main chakras, each associated with specific aspects of our being:
- Root Chakra (Muladhara):
Location: Base of the spine
Color: Red
Element: Earth
Associated with: Survival, safety, stability, foundation, and physical energy
- Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana):
Location: Lower abdomen, below the navel
Color: Orange
Element: Water
Associated with: Creativity, sensuality, emotions, pleasure, and relationships
